According to court records:

On Sept. 15 he got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend. He grabbed her by the throat and back of the head, pushed her into a wall, and "held her with such force that she could not breath or scream. She felt he was going to kill her," according to court records.

He had assaulted her in the past, she said, but never to this degree. His blood alcohol level tested at .11 percent.
