The Minnesota Directors of Nursing Administration Long Term Care, whose mission is to promote leadership excellence through education, networking, mentoring and advocacy for the benefit of members and the people in the communities they serve, recently awarded a record of 30 scholarships, including one to a local nursing student.
At MN-DONA's Annual Fall Conference on Oct. 12, Siri Freeh of Lake Park was awarded a $500 scholarship to continue her nursing education.
Siri is currently employed at Sunnyside Care Center. She is pursuing her degree at the University of Minnesota. Upon completing her degree, she plans to continue a nursing career in long term care.
MN-DONA is a state association of licensed registered nurses who are currently or have previously served in a position as director of nursing or assistant director of nursing in a state licensed long term care facility. MN-DONA sponsors several scholarships each year for the advanced education of both members and non-members pursuing a nursing degree with a career emphasis on long term care.
