The public is welcome to attend and participate in a candidate forum for Minnesota House Districts 2A and 2B, sponsored by the Park Rapids League of Women Voters.
The forum will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Northwoods Bank, 1200 1st Street East, Park Rapids.
The League is sponsoring this and five more candidate forums this fall to educate the public about issues in the campaigns, provide an opportunity for voters to hear candidates discuss those issues face-to-face, stimulate public interest and participation in the elections and provide an opportunity for the candidates to engage their constituents.
Candidates participating Oct. 2 will be House 2A candidates Rep. Roger Erickson (DFL) and challenger David Hancock (GOP) and House 2B candidates Rep. Steve Green (GOP) and challenger David Sobieski (DFL). These are two-year terms.
Questions for the House 2A and 2B forum may be submitted by e-mail to prapidsleague@gmail.com no later than noon Tuesday, Sept. 30. Please put the forum date in the subject line.
