Highway 108 detour near Pelican Rapids to start Sept. 8

Motorists on Highway 108 west of Pelican Rapids will encounter a one-week detour when a culvert replacement project begins Tuesday, Sept. 8, weather permitting.

Motorists on Highway 108 west of Pelican Rapids will encounter a one-week detour when a culvert replacement project begins Tuesday, Sept. 8, weather permitting.

Highway 108 will close between Pelican Rapids and Otter Tail County Road 21.

Westbound traffic will detour north on Otter Tail County Road 9, west on Highway 34 and south on Clay County Road 35/Otter Tail County Road 21.

Eastbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.

Motorists travelling between the Fargo-Moorhead area and Pelican Rapids are encouraged to use the Highway 34 interchange at Barnesville, which will connect with the signed detour.

Residents who live within the road closure area may use Highway 108 during the project; however, the road may be impassable while individual culverts are replaced.

Work on a second phase of the project east of Pelican Rapids will begin after this detour is lifted. Additional information about the next phase will be released before that work begins.
