A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced in Becker County District Court on a felony charge Friday.

District Judge Thomas Schroeder stayed execution of a 12-month prison sentence against Jesse Stilke, 24, of 1333 Madison Avenue. Stilke must serve 60 days in jail, was fined $1,292 and be on supervised probation for up to five years.

Stilke was sentenced for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested while driving in Detroit Lakes on Sept. 17, 2005, by a Detroit Lakes police officer who knew that Stilke's driver's license had been revoked. During a car search, the officer found methamphetamine and a drug pipe.

Schroeder dismissed a misdemeanor driving after revocation charge against Stilke.
