A Waubun man was found guilty by a Becker County jury Thursday on the lesser of two assault charges for cutting a woman's forehead and face with a piece of broken glass, requiring 67 stitches and leaving permanent scarring.
Eric Keith Buschette, 25, of 1555 290th Ave, Waubun was found innocent on a felony charge of first-degree assault -- great bodily harm.
The jury found him guilty of felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
On Oct. 29, during an argument with a woman, he took her down and cut her forehead and sides of face with a piece of broken glass. The cut in the forehead required 40 stitches to close and the other cuts required 27 stitches. The assault resulted in permanent scarring, according to court records.
Sentencing is set for April 25 before Becker County District Judge Jack Pearson.
