The new Lake Park Audubon High School, 611 Vigen Lane, Lake Park will be the site for the Thursday, Aug. 1, District 11 Horticulture show.
The show is being hosted by the members of the Lake Park Garden Club. Garden clubs from surrounding area will be participating, including Detroit Lakes, Richville, Mahnomen and Ada.
The theme for this year’s show is “Garden Prose and Poetry.” A sample of the many display categories include, floral design, outdoor container plants, house plants, annuals, day lilies, roses, perennials, hosta and garden vegetables.
Artistic Design entries will be around common nursery rhymes making for many interesting floral arrangements.
The annual show is open to public entry. Any member of the community may enter their horticulture exhibit. Entry is from 8-11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Judging of all entries will be completed by 3 p.m. and the public is invited to view over 300 horticulture exhibits from 3-4. Awards and door prize winners will be announced at 4.

This show is an exhibit of beautiful locally grown flowers and produce. It is a great place to get ideas for new garden plants and flowers.
