Shirley Lee has always had a lot of animals, from cats to dogs to horses to calves and she has enjoyed them all. Shirley became interested in supporting HSL due to her love of animals and because she believes HSL is a wonderful organization. She feels that supporting HSL is a necessity, because we never run out of homeless animals.
Shirley has been a strong supporter and volunteer with the Humane Society of the Lakes for the past 12 years, and recently became an HSL board member.
She has sold raffle tickets for Hawgs 4 Dawgs, ShelterFest and the Harley Fundraiser while attending as many events as possible.
Shirley says, "the best thing about volunteering for me is the feeling of doing something good for both myself and the animals."
Currently Shirley has one cat named Cooper who is special needs and one dog named Toto, both adopted from HSL.

She also supports other community organizations such as Hospice and the Lakes Crisis Center.
Shirley meets new friends wherever she goes, and says, "you can never have too many, whether people or animals."
Thanks Shirley for all you do to support the homeless animals in our area and for being a wonderful friend and volunteer!
