At least one injured in rollover on Hwy 34 east of Detroit Lakes Friday evening

A 2004 Ford Expedition was westbound on Highway 34 when it lost control and rolled on wet pavement in Erie Township east of Detroit Lakes.

A Ponsford man was injured in a one-vehicle rollover Friday evening on Highway 34 east of Detroit Lakes.

Jayson Robert Annette, 34, of Ponsford was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

It’s not known if he was wearing a seatbelt. Airbags did not deploy, and alcohol was involved, according to the State Patrol.

Annette is listed as a passenger in a 2004 Ford Expedition that was westbound on Highway 34 when it lost control and rolled in Erie Township east of Detroit Lakes.

The name and city of residence of the driver are listed as unknown, although the age is listed as 58, according to the State Patrol report. Injuries to the driver were listed as not documented, alcohol use was listed as unknown, and the driver was not listed as going to the hospital.

The crash was reported at 11:26 p.m. Friday on wet pavement at mile marker 44 in Becker County. About a third of an inch of rain fell as showers moved through Detroit Lakes Friday evening and early Saturday morning, and thunderstorms were reported in the vicinity at the time of the crash, according to the National Weather Service.

Becker County deputies and Detroit Lakes firefighters assisted at the scene.
