An Audubon man was arrested Thursday morning after leading a state trooper on a chase that ended in a crash in the Vergas Trails, according to the State Patrol.

Jared Danielson, 31, of Audubon was not injured and was taken to the Becker County Jail on an active warrant. Other charges are pending, according to State Patrol spokesman Jesse Grabow.

The incident started about 8 a.m. Thursday on Highway 59 near Becker County Road 17, when the trooper tried to pull over a Ford Ranger pickup because the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The driver failed to pull over, and fled in the vehicle. The trooper pursued, and a short while later the pickup truck left the road and crashed, after crossing railroad tracks on the Vergas Trails Road near the Becker-Otter Tail county line.
