Becker County Republicans open campaign headquarters in Detroit Lakes

Campaign signs and other campaign material are immediately available free of charge.

DETROIT LAKES — The Becker County Republicans have established their campaign headquarters for the 2022 general election at 835 Lake Avenue in Detroit Lakes.

Campaign signs and other campaign material are immediately available free of charge at that location. The phone number to reach the office is (218) 234-2292 and the website is

The normal hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to stop in and get yard signs for their favorite candidates and exchange the latest news on the campaigns. Larger signs are also available for high-visibility locations.

Wade Alfred Olds, 53, of Detroit Lakes was charged Nov. 22 in Becker County District Court with two felony criminal vehicular homicide charges involving driving while intoxicated. He is also charged with one felony count of criminal vehicular operation.
According to court records, on Sept. 29, 2021 he was arrested in the Holy Rosary Church parking lot in Detroit Lakes, after a KOPS (Keeping Our Police Safe) Alert was issued by Becker County dispatch a day earlier.
Two sedans and a deer were involved in an accident along County Highway 21, Detroit Lakes. The drivers of the sedans were 24 years old and 37 years old. Injuries were reported.
