DETROIT LAKES — Two people face felony drug charges following a high-speed chase on Highway 59.
Catrell Lamont Kobold, 26, of Burnsville has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony third-degree and felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime, and felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
Antonette LaShawn Sigle, 25, of St. Paul has been charged with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on May 16, a White Earth police officer attempted to pull a vehicle over on Highway 59 in Mahnomen County for having illegally tinted windows. The vehicle did not stop, and a pursuit followed that reached speeds of 100 mph as it headed into Becker County.
The vehicle eventually spun out and stopped in a field near Detroit Lakes. All four occupants were arrested. Kobold was driving and Sigle was in the front passenger seat.

A loaded pistol was found in the vehicle, and a loaded magazine was found in Kobold's pocket. Suspected methamphetamine was found in the vehicle – a large chunk near the driver floor and another bindle on the passenger-side floor. The total weight of meth was 12.4 grams.
On May 18, cash bail for Kobold was set at $2,000 or bond at $20,000, with standard conditions of release that include not leaving the state without written court permission, or $40,000 bail or bond with no conditions.
Cash bail for Sigle was set at $200 or bond at $5,000, with standard conditions of release, or $10,000 bail or bond with no conditions. She posted $200 bail and was released the same day.
On May 23, Kobold posted a $20,000 bond and was released. Both are scheduled for omnibus hearings on July 18.
