Court report: Teen charged in employee theft; felony weapons charge for Frazee man; drug charges for DL woman

She told the officer that she knew what she did was wrong, but she couldn't resist the urge to steal, according to court records.

DETROIT LAKES — Abigail Lyn Sellgren, 18, of rural Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony theft.

According to court records, on April 22, a Detroit Lakes police officer went to Walmart on an employee theft complaint. Sellgren was accused of committing multiple thefts over multiple months while an employee at Walmart.

She told the officer that she knew what she did was wrong, but she couldn't resist the urge to steal. Surveillance video showed her selecting merchandise, often before or after her shift, and then leaving the store without paying for any of the merchandise. Walmart Asset Protection determined between April 9 and April 17 she stole about $1,005 in cash from her register and merchandise.

Her first court appearance was set for July 21.

Frazee man accused of illegally having 13 guns, ammo

Chad Lawrence Peterson, 50, of Frazee has been charged in Becker County District Court with illegal possession of a firearm, a felony.

According to court records, on June 9, a special agent with the West Central Task Force and a special agent with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension received information that there were guns inside a gun safe belonging to Peterson.

He had allegedly dropped the safe off for another person to hold, since he can’t legally have guns or ammunition due to a felony second-degree drug conviction.

The safe held 13 guns, lots of ammunition, and three identification cards belonging to Peterson.

On June 16 a warrant was issued, and bond was set at $40,000 without conditions or zero with standard conditions of release.

DL house search leads to felony drug charge

Trisha Christine Mayoue, 37, of rural Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with one count of felony and one count of gross misdemeanor fifth-degree controlled substance crime.

According to court records, on June 7, Detroit Lakes police executed a search warrant at a Detroit Lakes residence, and Mayoue was there along with other people. She was arrested on a warrant, and officers found a purse with her identification card inside. Also in the purse were two Alprazolam pills and two loaded syringes.

On June 14, she posted $400 cash and was released with conditions. A settlement conference is set for Aug. 31.
