Crime and fire report: 2 ATV crashes in Becker County since Sept. 10

On Sept. 10, near Waubun, a 48-year-old Fargo man suffered unknown injuries during an ATV rollover and was transported Mahnomen Health Services for treatment. Also, on Sept. 11, near Osage, a 67-year-old Osage man was reportedly trapped after his ATV rolled over. Neighbors assisted and lifted the ATV off the man. No injuries were reported.

Thursday, Sept. 8

5:48 a.m., near Menahga, a phone scam was reported. Money was sent to the scammer via Bitcoin.

10:29 a.m., at Walmart, Detroit Lakes, two reports of shoplifting. A previously trespassed individual returned to the store and is expected to be cited for trespassing.

10:37 a.m., near County Road 6, Audubon, a caller reported suspected drug activity.

2:24 p.m., near County Road 125, Park Rapids, domestic incident. Both parties appeared to be intoxicated. No injuries.

Friday, Sept. 9

8:09 a.m., near west Main Street, Detroit Lakes, past action vehicle break-in reported.

9:14 a.m., near Frazee Street, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage reported.

10:35 a.m., near Highway 34, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

According to court records: On or about Aug. 1 through Aug. 24, 2022, he physically and sexually abused a woman in Becker County, threatening to kill her family and friends if she reported him.
A 24-year-old Hayward, Wisconsin, woman was arrested for third-degree possession of a controlled substance, according to call-for-service logs. A Moorhead man was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

10:54 a.m., near Sauers Lake on Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, a wallet and other work related items were stolen from a vehicle.

12:23 p.m., near Oak Street, Detroit Lakes, an underground gas line was struck. Minnesota Energy was dispatched to the scene.

1:03 p.m., near 465th Avenue, Ponsford, prescription medication reported stolen.

1:28 p.m., near west State Street, Detroit Lakes, prescription medication reported stolen.

4:22 p.m., near 11th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a group of juveniles were yelling obscenities and harassment from a moving vehicle. The parents will be contacted.

4:47 p.m., near County Road 38 and County Road 121, Frazee, a 3-wheel motorcycle was reported in a roadside ditch. A 73-year-old woman, of Amboy, Minn., reported breathing difficulties. EMS was dispatched to the scene.

7:27 p.m., near Barbara Avenue, Detroit Lakes, gas pump drive-off.

8:16 p.m., near Richwood Road, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

Saturday, Sept. 10

1:39 a.m., at the Frazee VFW, patrons reported in the business after business hours. The incident is under investigation by the Frazee Police Chief.

12:10 p.m., near Waubun, ATV rollover. A 48-year-old Fargo man was transported to Mahnomen Health Services with unknown injuries.

3:29 p.m., near Detroit Lakes, suicide related. A 69-year-old Detroit Lakes woman was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for an evaluation.

4:28 p.m., near east Little Cormorant Road, Audubon, a stolen trailer from St. Cloud was recovered.

6:44 p.m., near west Maple Avenue, Frazee, a power line was reported down after a pole was struck by a vehicle. No injuries. Otter Tail Power was contacted.

Sunday, Sept. 11

1:44 a.m., at the Frazee VFW, patrons reported in the business after business hours. The information will be passed onto the city council.

9:23 a.m., near 470th Avenue, Osage, ATV crash. A 67-year-old Osage man was reportedly trapped after his ATV rolled over. Neighbors assisted in moving the ATV. No injuries reported.

2:21 p.m., at CVS, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

2:39 p.m., near County Road 21, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle was broken into. Personal items were disheveled and missing.

3:30 p.m., near Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, report of an ongoing dispute over a barking dog.

3:42 p.m., near County Road 118, Frazee, a trail camera was stolen. The camera was located in a tree about 10 feet off the ground.

7:46 p.m., at Menards, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting. A 29-year-old Moorhead man was cited in the incident.

8:24 p.m., near 250th Avenue, Ogema, windows and doors were reported kicked-in at a residence.

11:45 p.m., near Detroit Lakes, suicide related. A 59-year-old Detroit Lakes woman was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for evaluation.
