Crime and fire report: Domestic assault involving sisters leads to arrest of Detroit Lakes woman

Two sisters were reportedly fighting on Saturday, according to an emergency dispatch report. A 13-year-old girl, of Detroit Lakes, reported a leg injury, but no medical transport was required. A 24-year-old Detroit Lakes woman was arrested at the scene.

Thursday, Oct. 27

2:03 a.m., near West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported two men fighting. The parties were separated by the time law enforcement arrived at the scene. Neither party wanted to press charges.

8:33 a.m., near County Road 29, Frazee, a white truck was discovered partially in the water at Big Rock Lake. The vehicle appeared abandoned. Law enforcement is still awaiting contact with the vehicle owner.

8:39 a.m., near Brandy Lake Road and Old Pit Road, Detroit Lakes, traffic stop. A 35-year-old Detroit Lakes man was arrested for driving after revocation and possible DWI.

1:47 p.m., near 4th Street, Lake Park, law enforcement was dispatched on a court order violation to a residence with probable cause to believe a suspect was currently at the residence. A 19-year-old Lake Park man fled the scene on foot, officers pursued the suspect, but were unable to detain the man. The man remains at-large.

2:53 p.m., near County Road 19, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported 6-7 “kids” were at Dunton Locks and some were fighting while others were filming the incident. Law enforcement was unable to locate the group upon arrival.

2:55 p.m., at Walmart, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.

The caller said the missing gasoline was valued at more than $100, according to a dispatch report. Also, two employee thefts were reported by Detroit Lakes businesses since Monday.
In separate case, an Audubon man was sentenced for planting camera in ex-girlfriend's bedroom.

4:29 p.m., near Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle backed into another vehicle causing minor damage.

6:25 p.m., near 2nd Street, Frazee, a 53-year-old Frazee woman became unruly at the Frazee liquor store. The woman was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

6:26 p.m., near 4th Street, Lake Park, a 4-wheeler and grill were reported stolen. Date of the theft is unknown. The total value of the items was about $2,000.

9:11 p.m., near Ponsford, an 18-year-old Ponsford woman reported self-harm threats. The woman was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for evaluation.

10:51 p.m., near Pow Wow Highway, Ponsford, a caller reported an assault involving two women. Both declined to make an official statement to law enforcement.

Friday, Oct. 28

8:29 a.m., near Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported some business checks were stolen in Fargo and one check was cashed in Detroit Lakes. The case is under investigation.

12:04 a.m., near County Road 15 and County Road 6, Audubon, a truck was reported in a roadside ditch. The truck had hit multiple road signs. A 40-year-old Breckenridge man was arrested for possible DWI.

10:40 a.m., near Eagle View Road, Ogema, drug related.

1:53 p.m., near County Road 35, Ponsford, unauthorized card use.

10:47 p.m., near Union Street, Detroit Lakes, physical altercation involving a man and woman. Minor injuries were reported. A 45-year-old Detroit Lakes man was arrested at the scene.

Saturday, Oct. 29

7:18 a.m., near Roosevelt Avenue, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage reported.

11:41 a.m., near County Road 32, Rochert, possible email scam reported. No information or money exchanged.

5:15 p.m., near Frazee Road, Frazee, a caller reported dirt bikes and ATVs “tearing up” the roadway. The riders were given verbal warnings and advised of off-road vehicle rules.

8:04 p.m., near County Road 21, Ogema, a caller reported receiving threatening messages on social media.

8:14 p.m., near Highway 34 and 385th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, large brush fire reported as unattended. Frazee firefighters responded to the scene.

Sunday, Oct. 30

6:22 a.m., near Elm Street, Detroit Lakes, vehicle fire reported. The fire may have been intentionally set in the bed of a pickup truck. The incident is under investigation.

1:36 p.m., near Ogema, a caller reported personal items were vandalized and their vehicle gas tank was filled with sugar. The incident is under investigation. A 17-year-old boy was detained and transported to a Moorhead Juvenile Detention Facility.

3:33 p.m., near Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported an assault that occurred the night before. No injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
