Crime and fire report: Fire 'fully engulfed' a combine harvester in Frazee on Wednesday, no injuries reported

A combine was reported as on fire in a field, according to an emergency dispatch report. Upon arrival, an officer noted the combine was fully engulfed. No injuries. The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes.

Monday, Oct. 17

6:19 a.m., near Detroit Lakes, a 14-year-old Detroit Lakes boy was listed as a runaway.

8:32 a.m., near Callaway, a caller reported multiple instances of harassment involving a man. They were advised of harassment restraining order procedures.

9:40 a.m., near Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, gas pump drive off.

1:20 p.m., near 353rd Circle, Ogema, bicycle theft and pickup truck damage reported.

2:50 p.m., near County Road 143 and County Road 35, Ponsford, single-vehicle crash. No injuries. Vehicle in the ditch.

3:06 p.m., at Walmart, Detroit Lakes, two instances of shoplifting reported.

4:22 p.m., at Menards, Detroit Lakes, a previously trespassed individual returned to the store. A citation will be mailed to the individual.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

1:29 a.m., near Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a 28-year-old Fergus Falls woman reported being slapped by their ex-boyfriend. No medical attention was needed.

8:03 a.m., near Highway 10 and Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

8:26 a.m., near 370th Street, Ogema, two contractor trailers were broken into. Multiple tools and other items were stolen.

9:18 a.m., near County Road 14 and Highway 59, Callaway, reckless driving reported.

1:16 p.m., near Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle was bumped while parking.

1:28 p.m., at Detroit Lakes Middle School, threats. A student sent an inappropriate photo to another student. An 11-year-old Detroit Lakes boy was suspended from the school “indefinitely.”

1:45 p.m., near South Shore Drive, Detroit Lakes, a natural gas line was struck during landscaping. Minnesota Energy was dispatched to the scene.

5:23 p.m., near 5th Street, Frazee, a caller reported the mirror on their pickup truck was damaged.

6:46 p.m., near the Bad Medicine Lake boat access, a caller reported a pontoon was flipped over.

7:39 p.m., near Pleasant View Road, Frazee, a caller reported a domestic situation and a man was out of control. A 46-year-old Frazee man was removed from the residence for the night and the caller was advised of protection order procedures.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

4:17 a.m., near County Road 6 and County Road 19, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle struck a deer.

7:49 a.m., near Beaver Trail Road, White Earth, a caller reported kids were throwing glass bottles in the street.

9:05 a.m., near Dovre Road, Detroit Lakes, possible real estate scam. The case is under investigation.

12:40 p.m., near Bog Lake Trail, Osage, multiple metal items, including parts of a cook stove, a garden hose and other stainless steel items, were reported stolen.

4:18 p.m., near Highway 87 and 358th Avenue, Frazee, a combine was reported as on fire in a field. Upon arrival, an officer noted the combine was fully engulfed. No injuries. The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes.

4:20 p.m., near 2nd Street, Lake Park, a strong smell of marijuana was reported coming from a basement apartment. The tenant denied smoking marijuana.

11:14 p.m., near 150th Street and 520th Avenue, Menahga, a vehicle struck a deer.
