Crime and fire report: Multiple people trespassed from Detroit Lakes Holiday Inn after bar fight early Sunday

About seven to eight people were involved in a bar fight at the Holiday Inn Lakefront in Detroit Lakes early Sunday morning, according to an emergency dispatch report. Three individuals were trespassed from the hotel and a 37-year-old Detroit Lakes man was arrested for possible DWI.

Thursday, Nov. 10

7:39 a.m., near east Bad Medicine Lake Road, Ponsford, a semi-truck was reported on-fire next to a barn. The barn containing dry wood also caught fire. The blaze was extinguished after about 90 minutes.

9:19 a.m., near Old Mill Trail, Osage, a neighbor made a trail through the caller’s property.

10:59 a.m., near Vigen Lane, Lake Park, unruly student.

1:26 p.m., near Ogema, suspected drug activity was reported.

1:30 p.m., near Audubon, inappropriate sexual conduct involving a juvenile female reported. Conduct occurred multiple times over the past year.

3:49 p.m., near County Road 129, Park Rapids, vehicle fire reported. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The blaze was extinguished after about 75 minutes.

7:12 p.m., near 336th Avenue, Ogema, disturbance. A 32-year-old Bagley woman was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Friday, Nov. 11

8:25 a.m., near County Road 6, Audubon, a mailbox was damaged by a snow plow.

8:32 a.m., near 15th Avenue, Detroit Lakes, medical. A forklift tipped onto an employee causing a lower leg, or ankle, injury. A 54-year-old Hawley man was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s for treatment.

8:39 a.m., near Mission Road, Ogema, two men were reportedly fighting. No injuries. No arrests.

1:38 p.m., at Detroit Lakes High School, a vaping device was seized from a student. The student will be disciplined internally.

2:37 p.m., near County Road 6, Detroit Lakes, vehicle fire. The blaze was extinguished after about 120 minutes.

5:58 p.m., near County Road 32 and County Road 21, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle struck a deer.

6:50 p.m., at the Ogema Liquor Store, counterfeit $100 and $50 bills were discovered and turned over to law enforcement. The case is under investigation.

6:51 p.m., near County Road 29 and County Road 134, Frazee, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.

8:34 p.m., near County Road 1, Lake Park, attempted unauthorized cash card use. No money exchanged.

11:43 p.m., near County Road 21, Detroit Lakes, an individual fell out of a hot tub and suffered a possible neck injury. The party was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for treatment.

Saturday, Nov. 12

1:02 a.m., near Shinab Trail, Ponsford, two men made unauthorized entry into a residence and made threats to occupants of the dwelling. A 29-year-old Mahnomen man was arrested in connection with the incident and a 30-year-old Mahnomen man was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

2:46 a.m., near Blackhawk Road, Lake Park, disturbance. A 36-year-old Frazee woman was arrested for possible DWI.

3:45 a.m., near 353rd Circle, Ogema, a driver pulled into the driveway of a residence. The driver, a 34-year-old White Earth man, was maced while in the driveway by a 24-year-old Waubun man. No injuries. The Waubun man was cited for 5th-degree assault.

6:00 a.m., near Mission Road, Ogema, brothers fighting. A 36-year-old White Earth man and a 37-year-old White Earth man both suffered injuries and were transported to a nearby medical clinic for treatment before being arrested and taken to Becker County Jail.

9:23 a.m., near mile marker 58 on Highway 34, single-vehicle crash. A 21-year-old Bethal man was taken to Perham Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

11:05 a.m., near Highway 59, Detroit Lakes, a portable generator was stolen out of a camper within the last week.

4:57 p.m., near County Road 15 and east Maud Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported a swerving vehicle. The vehicle ended up in a roadside ditch. A 29-year-old Fargo man was arrested for possible DWI.

6:10 p.m., near County Road 143, Ogema, disturbance. A 27-year-old Ogema man was arrested on an unrelated North Dakota warrant.

6:47 p.m., near County Road 10 and Indy 500 Road, Frazee, single-vehicle crash. A vehicle occupant reported a possible neck injury. They were transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes for treatment.

7:21 p.m., near Richwood Road, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle struck a deer.

8:28 p.m., near Highway 10 and Long Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, one-vehicle crash. No injuries.

9:19 p.m., near Ogema, physical domestic assault. No injuries reported. A 59-year-old White Earth man was arrested.

Sunday, Nov. 13

1:30 a.m., at Holiday Inn Lakefront, Detroit Lakes, about seven to eight people were involved in a bar fight. Three individuals were trespassed from the Holiday Inn and a 37-year-old Detroit Lakes man was arrested for possible DWI. No injuries were reported.

9:53 a.m., near Dr Wallace Drive, Ponsford, a caller reported individuals trespassing on private property.

11:43 a.m., at Detroit Country Club, a caller reported a group of juveniles driving on the course in a utility vehicle. No damage reported.

12:53 p.m., near Mary Yellowhead Road, Ogema, harassing messages received. The messages may have also involved attempted witness tampering. The case is under investigation.

10:15 p.m., near Highway 59, Waubun, a White Earth squad struck a deer.

According to court records, on Sept. 29, 2021 he was arrested in the Holy Rosary Church parking lot in Detroit Lakes, after a KOPS (Keeping Our Police Safe) Alert was issued by Becker County dispatch a day earlier.
Two sedans and a deer were involved in an accident along County Highway 21, Detroit Lakes. The drivers of the sedans were 24 years old and 37 years old. Injuries were reported.
