The following reports were compiled from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Police Department from an official with knowledge of the cases, unless otherwise noted.
Thursday, Feb. 10
- 8 a.m., 11000 block Lake Maud Drive, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported their various accounts were hacked, including: Arvig, Venmo and other social media accounts. They also reported “hundreds” of dollars were lost. The case is under investigation.
- 8:52 a.m., near County Road 35 and County Road 37, Ponsford, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch, unoccupied.
- 10:10 a.m., near Mahnomen County, drug related.
- 10:45 a.m., 33000 block County Road 143, Ogema, assault. A 41-year-old Waubun woman reportedly broke into a residence and pistol whipped a 26-year-old Ogema man. She accused the man of stealing a speaker and proceeded to damage his television. No medical transport was needed and the case is under investigation.
- 11:25 a.m., near Highway 59 and Highway 34, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. EMS was dispatched to the scene.
- 12:16 p.m., near County Road 21 and County Road 112, Waubun, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.
- 12:59 p.m., near Washington Avenue and North Shore Drive, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.
- 1:05 p.m., 25000 block 353rd Circle, Ogema, possible overdose. Narcan was administered and CPR was performed on a 44-year-old Ogema man. The man was transported to a nearby medical clinic for additional treatment.
- 4:31 p.m., 1400 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.
- 4:40 p.m., near County Road 43 and County Road 36, Frazee, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.
- 5:37 p.m., at Walmart, Detroit Lakes, an employee was pushed by a male party.
- 7:19 p.m., 38000 block Highway 34, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.
- 9:29 p.m., near County Road 39 and County Road 38, Frazee, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries. A tow truck was enroute.
- 10:38 p.m., 35000 block Eagle View Road, Ogema, a caller reported a marijuana smell coming from a neighbor’s apartment.
Friday, Feb. 11
- 12:47 a.m., 13000 block Pearl Lake Lane, Detroit Lakes, a pickup truck was reported on fire. The fire was extinguished in under an hour.
- 3:10 a.m., at Essentia Health St. Mary’s, Detroit Lakes, a discharged patient was acting disorderly. A 46-year-old woman was arrested for possible obstruction.
- 3:11 a.m., near mile marker 39 on Highway 10, Audubon, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.
- 5:48 a.m., near mile marker 33 on Highway 10, Lake Park, a vehicle was reported in a snowbank. No injuries.
- 8:01 a.m., 14000 block east Pearl Lake Road, Detroit Lakes, gift card scam. No information exchanged.
- 9:08 a.m., near County Road 1 and Krogen Road, Lake Park, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.
- 10:14 a.m., 300 block Frazee Street, Detroit Lakes, gift card scam reported. Store employees intervened before any information could be exchanged.
- 10:53 a.m., near mile marker 42 on Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. No injuries.
- 2:51 p.m., 200 block Barbara Avenue, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage.
- 4:52 p.m., near County Road 29 and Peace River Ranch Road, Frazee, single-vehicle rollover. No injuries.
- 5:26 p.m., near Town and Country Lane, Lake Park, drug paraphernalia found.
- 6:18 p.m., 300 block east Juniper Avenue, Frazee, dumpster fire reported.
- 7:47 p.m., 53000 block Grant Street, Osage, physical domestic incident. No official statement was given and no medical attention was needed.
- 8:15 p.m., near Highway 59 and Ulan Street, Ogema, a single-vehicle left the roadway a struck a road sign.
- 9:57 p.m., at the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, Detroit Lakes, an individual threw a “large wad” of chewing tobacco at the dispatch window. He also spit on the window. The 23-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Saturday, Feb. 12
- 11:01 a.m., 100 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, a person who was supposed to be on an overnight Amtrak passenger train was not on the train and the caller also states Amtrak doesn’t have a record of them ever checking in. Law enforcement recommended a welfare check at their permanent residence.
- 11:44 a.m., 800 block Eighth Street, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.
- 12:35 p.m., 38000 block Height of Land Frontage Road, Detroit Lakes, a neighbor threatened to shoot the caller’s dog if it ever got into their garbage again.
- 3 p.m., 55000 block County Road 44, Park Rapids, failure to display snowmobile registration. Verbal warning.
- 4:02 p.m., 23000 block County Road 47, Osage, single-vehicle rollover. No injuries.
- 5:06 p.m., near Washington Avenue and Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, possible road rage incident. Two drivers exited their vehicles, began fighting and were rolling around on the ground. One individual suffered a cut on their face and complained of a shoulder injury. Also, one of the driver’s left the scene before law enforcement arrived. A 40-year-old man was arrested for possible DWI.
- 6:39 p.m., 1500 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, two-vehicle crash. No injuries.
- 9:04 p.m., 300 block Langford Street, Detroit Lakes, a caller reported some tenants were smoking marijuana in a rental unit.
- 9:20 p.m., at Walmart, Detroit Lakes, a former employee was trespassed from the property.
- 10:28 p.m., 100 block West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes, unauthorized account charges.
Sunday, Feb. 13
- 6:04 a.m., 100 block Highway 10, Detroit Lakes, fatal, unknown medical. A 40-year-old man was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at a nearby medical clinic.
- 10:12 a.m., 1100 block Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a phone was reported missing.
- 1:50 p.m., at Menards, Detroit Lakes, shoplifting.
- 5:44 p.m., 200 block west Grant Street, Detroit Lakes, parked vehicle damage. A vehicle was written on with a marker.
- 6:07 p.m., near County Road 37, Ponsford, a vehicle was reported in a roadside ditch. A passerby tried to assist the motorist and got their vehicle stuck as well. No injuries.
- 6:41 p.m., near Highway 10 and Washington Avenue, Detroit Lakes, a single-vehicle left the roadway and struck a road sign.
