Detroit Lakes residents avoid injury in rollover crash in Moorhead

The car was westbound on Interstate 94 when it came across an object in the roadway and the driver swerved to avoid it, resulting in the car rolling into the ditch.

DETROIT LAKES — A Detroit Lakes woman escaped injury when the car she was riding in swerved to avoid an object in the road and rolled over on Interstate 94 in Moorhead on Sunday, May 22.

The 1997 Toyota Avalon sedan was driven by Ginger Marie Macone, 28, of Dallas, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sanford Broadway Medical Center in Fargo, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. She was wearing a seatbelt. Airbags did not deploy in the Toyota.

The car was westbound on Interstate 94 when it came across an object in the roadway and Macone swerved to avoid it, resulting in the car rolling into the ditch.

Passengers in the car were Felicity Eleanor Neal, 22, of Detroit Lakes and Colton James Wilcox, 27, of Denver. They were not injured, according to the patrol.

The crash was reported on dry pavement at 10:24 p.m. Sunday at milepost 1 in Moorhead.

Moorhead police and firefighters and Fargo-Moorhead Ambulance assisted at the scene. The patrol reported that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
