Five people were hurt in a two-car crash Monday morning on Highway 59 and Becker County Road 6 near Detroit Lakes.
According to the State Patrol, a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan was northbound on Highway 59, attempting to make a left turn onto County Road 6, when it collided with a 2021 Subaru Legacy southbound on Highway 59.
Injured in the minivan was the driver, Christy Lynn Johnson, 61, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s hospital in Detroit Lakes.
Also injured were three passengers in the van: Braddley Allen Blanchard, 28, Sara Jean Freeman, 38, and Kelly Lynn Vogert, 36, all of Detroit Lakes. All had non-life-threatening injuries and none were listed as going to the hospital.
The driver of the Subaru, Elizabeth Anne Roerick, 31, of Detroit Lakes went to Essentia Health in Fargo with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

All five were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed in both cars. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which was reported on dry pavement at 8:01 a.m. Monday in Lakeview Township. The Becker County Sheriff's office, Detroit Lakes Police Department and Essentia EMS assisted at the scene.
