Mahnomen woman hurt after colliding with jackknifed semi on Highway 59

She was southbound on Highway 59 in a 2014 Ford Escape when a northbound 2018 International semi tractor-trailer jackknifed across the roadway in front of her and the vehicles collided.

DETROIT LAKES — A Mahnomen woman was injured Wednesday when an oncoming semi jackknifed across Highway 59.

Carol Delia Geray, 67, of Mahnomen was taken to the Mahnomen hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

She was southbound on Highway 59 in a 2014 Ford Escape when a northbound 2018 International semi tractor-trailer jackknifed across the roadway in front of her and the vehicles collided.

The driver of the semi, Brandon Aaron Madden, 32, of Lutz, Florida, was not injured, according to the State Patrol.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed in the Ford Escape.

The crash was reported at 11:04 a.m. on snowy-icy pavement at mile marker 297 in Mahnomen County. Mahnomen County deputies and Mahnomen fire and ambulance crews assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
