PERHAM — Adventureland at the Perham Area Community Center is now open and ready for fun. After a previous soft opening for members, the center hosted a grand opening on Thursday, Oct. 27 for area families and their kids to play in the brand-new structure. PACC Executive Director Leigh Shebeck said that both openings went well.
"We had a good sign-up," he said. "We had a great turnout."
The structure features a lookout tower, a bridge swing, a rope ladder ramp, a wave tunnel, slides, different obstacles and more.
Kids were running, yelling and playing through the structure at the grand opening, and parents smiled as they watched and played with them. Jenni Graff, one of the parents at Adventureland with her two kids — a 19-month-old and a four-year-old — had a great time at both openings.
"I think it's going to be awesome," Graff said. "(My kids) love it. We knew we were coming to meet some friends today, and they were so excited last night at eight o'clock, couldn't wait. They woke up this morning ready to go … Kids really need to burn energy, and this is the perfect outlet for that. So we're lucky to have it."
