Train leaves tracks in Detroit Lakes; drivers encouraged to use Highway 59 or Roosevelt Avenue underpass

Nobody was hurt, but it is expected to take some time for the train to be mobile again, one BNSF employee said.

DETROIT LAKES — At least one railroad crossing on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad corridor in Detroit Lakes was blocked Monday afternoon after the wheels came off this hopper car between Randolph Road and Highway 10.

Nobody was hurt, but it is expected to take some time for the train to be mobile again, according to BNSF workers at the scene.
