DETROIT LAKES — Family and friends were at the Becker County Courthouse Tuesday to celebrate the ceremonial swearing-in of two new deputies – Ryan Seeger and Adam Winter, who recently joined the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.

Seeger was born and raised in the Detroit Lakes-Frazee area and served as a police officer in White Earth and Frazee before joining the sheriff’s office. He is an executive officer in the Minnesota National Guard.

Winter grew up in the Waubun area, worked as a track inspector for the Canadian Pacific Railway for several years, and has experience as a Cavalry Scout in the Army National Guard.

“There are about 2,000 openings for licensed peace officers in Minnesota. We had nine candidates, and I’m very honored to have these two here with me,” said Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander, who administered the ceremonial oath of office.
