Ashley Tingelstad and Dawnelle Askelson combined for 39 of their team's 40 points in the first half, giving the Lake Park-Audubon girls basketball team a 22-point halftime lead in the Minnesota Class 1A, Section 6 North sub-section quarterfinals Thursday against Norman County West.
The Raiders withstood a second-half surge by the Panthers to hold on to win 65-56.
"Me and Ash, once we get playing together, we can get going pretty quick," Askelson said.
The two combined to hit 13 shots and 10 free throws in the first half.
"It happens night in and night out. They've been doing it all year," Raiders coach Andrew Schwan said of his two 2,000-point scorers. "They work well together."

LP-A's scoring duo struggled in the second half, mostly do to foul trouble. Askelson picked up her fourth foul with 12:39 remaining, and then Tingelstad recorded her fourth with 8 minutes, 47 seconds to play.
"We just needed to slow it down and eat up the clock a little bit," Askelson said.
With their big-two struggling, the Raiders needed help. They received it in the form of two 3-pointers. One by eight-grader Andy Knudsvig and one by senior captain Paige Jenson.
"(Knudsvig's) got the heart of a senior," Schwan said.
NCW's comeback threat took a big hit when leading scorer Maggie Maroney fouled out with 2:59 remaining.
"It would have nice to see if she could hit some (threes) down the end," Panthers coach Dave Rufsvold said.
