The remarkable turnaround for the Waubun Bomber girls' basketball team continues, as the squad upped their record to 9-4 on the season with a win over Mahnomen.
The Bombers defeated the Mahnomen Indians for the second time this season, by a score of 60-49.
The game was close at halftime, with the score being 22-19 in favor of the Bombers.
"We had lots of missed lay-ups in the first half," said Waubun head coach Jason McCloskey.
The Bombers made sure to capitalize on those same looks under the hoop in the second half, and opened up a lead of 24 points.

At that point, the Bombers were able to sub through their bench and get everyone valuable playing time versus a quality opponent.
Mareena LaRoque took care of business in the post for the Bombers in the first half, scoring seven points and nabbing five rebounds.
It was Rachel Pazdernik's turn in the second half, as she score five points and six rebounds.
Tracee Winter and Erin Jasken each scored six points, and their defensive pressure sparked the Bombers' second half run. But the night belonged to sophomore Jenna Lundon, as she scored her 1,000th career point.
"The tension was high in the early going and Jenna came out and hit a three pointer. It was then I knew it wouldn't be long before she got to the 1,000 mark," McCloskey said.
Sure enough, Lundon hit her 1,000th point as she sank the second of her two free throws.
The game was stopped for a few moments so the Bombers could celebrate with Lundon at mid-court.
"It was an exciting moment for our team and quite an accomplishment for a sophomore," said McCloskey.

The Bombers are now 9-4 overall and looking to finish the season strong, with some very tough opponents coming up.
