The 2009-2010 energy assistance program has assisted over 3,200 households in Becker, Hubbard, and Mahnomen counties this past winter. Over $2.7 million has been paid to area fuel dealers. The average assistance received by households this year is $800.
The last day to apply for energy assistance for this winter's program is May 31. Households that have not applied for assistance this heating season and whose income for the last three months is below the following guidelines may still apply.
One in household, $5,423 gross income for the past three months; two in household, $7,092 gross income for the past three months; three in household, $8,761 gross income for the past three months; four in household, $10,430 gross income for the past three months; five in household, $12,099 gross income for the past three months; six in household, $13,768 gross income for the past three months.
There are no deductions from income. Households must provide proof of income when they apply.
