Dennis Michael Norcross, 21, of 46325 284th St., Ponsford has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony theft of a motor vehicle (with a value over $2,500).
On May 13 a yellow 2000 Polaris ATV valued at $3,800 was stolen, along with other items, from a cabin on Bass Lake.
In the early morning hours of May 30, Norcross was riding the stolen ATV when he collided with a van on County Road 124 near Ponsford. He had picked up two passengers, one of whom told authorities Norcross did not own an ATV while the other said he assumed the ATV had been stolen. The ignition had been tampered with to start without keys.
On Sept. 10, District Judge Peter Irvine issued a summons for Norcross to appear in court Sept. 29.
