A White Earth man had his first appearance on a felony charge in Becker County District Court Monday.
District Judge John Pearson set bond at $5,000 against Terrance Jackson, 46, for domestic assault by strangulation. His next court appearance is April 24.
According to the court complaint, Jackson was arrested Sunday for an incident at a rural White Earth residence. A woman at the residence asked Jackson to leave. He then allegedly went to her car and removed the battery, then returned to the house and allegedly choked her until she blacked out.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
