Frazee man found deceased in Burlington Township ditch Tuesday

A preliminary investigation indicated no obvious signs of trauma, and remains under investigation, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A man was found deceased in a Burlington Township ditch on Tuesday, Feb. 28, according to a Becker County Sheriff's Office news release.

At 7:29 a.m. Tuesday, emergency dispatchers received a report of a male lying in a roadside ditch on 300th Avenue, just north of 137th Street in Burlington Township.

Daniel Jack Thompson, 31, of Frazee, was confirmed dead at the scene by first responders, the news release said.

A preliminary investigation indicated no obvious signs of trauma, and remains under investigation. The incident is believed to be isolated with no danger to the public, according to the news release.

Responding agencies included the Becker County Sheriff's Office, the Frazee Rescue Service, Essentia-St. Mary's EMS, the Detroit Lakes Police Department and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
