An Oregon man was sentenced Wednesday in Becker County District Court on a felony drug charge.

Adam Richard Lennox, 28, of 2930 Garfield St., Eugene, Ore., was attending the 10,000 Lakes Festival in rural Detroit Lakes on July 24, 2009 when a security officer approached him for questioning, on suspicion of selling drugs.

A subsequent search of his backpack revealed a Ziploc bag containing blotting papers that were suspected of containing the hallucinogen LSD. Subsequent field testing on some of the papers showed that they did contain the drug.

Lennox was initially charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance, but the charge was reduced earlier this year to a third degree felony drug charge. He pled guilty to that charge on May 19.

He was ordered to serve 27 months in prison at St. Cloud, with credit for 349 days already served in jail, and must also pay $140 in fines and fees.
