George Edward Libby, 33, of 26292 Eagle Road, White Earth has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for felony domestic assault and controlled substance crime.
On Jan. 18, he assaulted his domestic partner while he was intoxicated, hitting her in the face numerous times and pounding her head into a bathroom wall numerous times, according to court records.
The drug charge was felony fourth-degree controlled substance crime. Three other felony drug charges were dismissed in a plea agreement.
On April 1 the car he was driving was pulled over at County Road 147 and County Road 16.
The deputy found 10 zip-tie baggies of marijuana in a side door compartment and 12 paper bindles with a half-gram of cocaine in each bindle, along with packaging and other items associated with illegal drug sales, according to court records.

On Sept. 10, District Judge Peter Irvine sentenced him to 30 months in prison, with credit for time served. He was fined $50 plus court fees, to be taken from his prison earnings.
