A Perham man was sentenced Monday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of issuing dishonored checks-over $500.

Malcolm Charles Adams, 26, of 46851 Toad River Road, Perham, was ordered to serve 12 months and 1 day in prison, stayed on conditions including completion of 109 days in jail, up to five years of supervised probation and payment of $1,729 in court fines, fees and restitution.

Adams was accused of writing $542 in bad checks at two Becker County businesses between Nov. 30-Dec. 8, 2009.
