Man in satisfactory condition following construction accident

An Ashby, Minn., man was listed in satisfactory condition Friday morning at Sanford/MeritCare Hospital in Fargo where he was airlifted to Thursday afternoon after a road construction accident in northeast Mahnomen County.

An Ashby, Minn., man was listed in satisfactory condition Friday morning at Sanford/MeritCare Hospital in Fargo where he was airlifted to Thursday afternoon after a road construction accident in northeast Mahnomen County.

According to a news release from the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Department, Timothy Henneman, 28, had been working in a trench about 12 feet below road grade when workers said a large, heavy ball of clay, about 4 feet in diameter, rolled back into the trench and pinned Henneman to the ground.

By the time deputies and paramedics responded to the cellular 911 call, which came at 2:18 p.m., Henneman had been freed from the soil and suffered serious injuries to his lower extremities.

Henneman was working for Minnerath Construction of Cold Spring, Minn.

Agencies also responding included White Earth Ambulance Service, Lengby Rescue, First Care Ambulance of Fosston, White Earth Department of Natural Resources and Lifeflight.
