Marco was honored as a 2006 Minnesota Work-Life Champion. The winners were announced on Jan. 26 at a luncheon awards ceremony held at the Doubletree Park Place Hotel in St. Louis Park.
The 2006 Minnesota Work-Life Champions Award is Minnesota's first state-wide awards program spotlighting efforts of Minnesota businesses to implement programs and practices that create flexible and supportive workplaces. Marco was one of 12 companies recognized based on their substantial efforts to create balanced work-life cultures.
Applicants were evaluated on their organizational culture and leadership; work practices and flexibility; health, wellness and benefits; help with personal and family issues, and community involvement. Finalists were evaluated based on a survey administered to a random sampling of employees from each company.
As a 100 percent employee-owned company, Marco attracts and retains long-term employees who continue to grow with the company and help build their future. Marco has been conducting an annual employee survey since 1987 and shares the results with all employees.
The input received helps the company identify concerns and suggestions for improvement.
