Marco has been honored as a 2006 Minnesota Work-Life Champion. Winners were announced on January 26, at the luncheon awards ceremony held at the Doubletree Park Place Hotel in St. Louis Park.
The 2006 Minnesota Work-Life Champions Awards is Minnesota's first state-wide awards program spotlighting the efforts of Minnesota businesses to implement programs and practices that create flexible and supportive workplaces. Marco was one of twelve companies - from Rochester to St. Cloud - that were recognized based on their substantial efforts to create balanced work-life cultures.
Applicants were evaluated on their organizational culture and leadership; work practices and flexibility; health, wellness and benefits; help with personal and family issues; and community involvement. Finalists were also evaluated based on a survey that was administered to a sampling of employees from each company. As a 100 percent employee owned company, Marco attracts and retains long-term employees who continue to grow with the company and help build their future.
