Sen. Keith Langseth and Rep. Paul Marquart will hold town meetings March 12 to hear from residents of Becker, Clay, Traverse and Wilkin counties on the state budget deficit and other important state issues.
Langseth and Marquart will host five meetings in the area to hear residents' ideas and concerns regarding the state's budget deficit. Other concerns will include property taxes, flood prevention and mitigation, education and transportation funding, capital investment projects, health care reform and other issues.
"It's very important to hear residents' ideas and concerns regarding the huge budget deficit and other important issues the state is facing this legislative session. I really encourage folks to come out to a meeting and be part of the discussion," Marquart said.
The March 12 meeting schedule is as follows:
- 9 to 10 a.m. -- Browns Valley Public Library
- 11 a.m. to noon -- Wheaton Public Library
1 to 2 p.m. -- Breckenridge City Hall
3 to 4 p.m. -- Hawley City Hall
