Mary B. Ortiz, 43, of Detroit Lakes, died at her residence on Sunday, April 2, 2006, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Mary was born to Orville and Joanne Rosenthal Myogeto on Nov. 6, 1962 in Detroit Lakes, where she grew up and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1981. On April 14, 1984 she married Jesus Ortiz in Detroit Lakes.
Mary worked at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes for 25 years. She loved to do Arts and Crafts, baking and gardening. She also loved to have a house full of family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus Ortiz of Detroit Lakes; four sons, Jonathon, Adam, Ryan and Benjamin Ortiz, all of Detroit Lakes; her mother, Joanne Myogeto of Detroit Lakes; one sister, Debra Myogeto of Fargo; five brothers, Terry (April) Myogeto of Waubun, Scott (Shauna) Myogeto of Emily, Minn., Mark (Debbie) Myogeto of Austin, Texas, Mike (Cynthia) Myogeto of Cross Lake, Minn., and Lee (Donna) Myogeto of Detroit Lakes; as well as her nieces, nephews, and father and mother-in-law, Greg and Martina Ortiz. Preceding her in death were her father, Orville, and her grandparents.
Friends may call between 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at at the West-Kjos Funeral Home, in Detroit Lakes. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the start of funeral services, which are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Detroit Lakes, with Chaplain Vicki Marthaler officiating. Mary's siblings will serve as casket bearers.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. West-Kjos Funeral Home is providing arrangements.
