The Red Kettle Campaign of Becker County is a mere $2,500 from reaching its $10,000 matching goal.

Donations made between Dec. 15-24 will be matched up to $10,000 courtesy of the Otto Bremer Foundation.

The campaign began Nov. 17, and as of Dec. 18, more than $28,500 had been dropped in the kettles.

Only three days into the matching dates, the community has rallied and raised $7,464, leaving about $2,500 to get the full $10,000 matching grant.

“I can’t say it enough,” Kettle Campaign Coordinator Michele Baker said, “our community is absolutely awesome - not only in a monetary way, but for their contributions in volunteering to ring the bell for Salvation Army.”
