The Video and Media Symposium being held at Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday, Oct. 1, is a training and networking event designed to help those in nonprofit organizations and small to mid-size businesses become better marketers, communicators and visual storytellers.

The area’s expert media and video professionals will share insider tips and advice that will help those attending learn better ways to tap into the power of video and work with all forms of media more effectively.

Those speaking or serving on the panel at the Media and Video Symposium include news directors, reporters and video professionals from The Forum, Forum News Service, WDAY, Leighton Broadcasting, Midwest Radio of Fargo-Moorhead KFGO, Valley News Live, KVRR Fox, Prairie Public Broadcasting, Media Productions and Sundog.

“How to Tap into the Power of Video” is the first session starting at 8:15 a.m. and goes to 11:15 a.m., with a panel discussion and lunch immediately following from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This session will cover topics such as creating compelling stories, tips to save and find money for your video, technology, questions to ask your production company, rights, releases, and contracts, and getting people to watch your video.
