Minnesota State University Moorhead student Amy Meindl, Detroit Lakes, has received a $1,000 L.B. Hartz Scholarship that recognizes her outstanding accomplishments, campus and community leadership, and work experience.
Meindl is a senior majoring in management, international business and Spanish. Her academic achievements include Sigma Delta Pi, the national Hispanic Honor Society, National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Mu Delta. She is a student advisory board member for the College of Arts and Humanities and last summer studied abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Her parents are Kim and Marcia Meindl.
Scholarship recipients must be an upper-class student working toward a degree in business administration, finance, management or marketing; have a GPA of 3.5 or higher; and be a Minnesota or North Dakota high school graduate.
The scholarship is funded by the L. B. Hartz Foundation. Hartz was the founder of Hartz Wholesale Company headquartered in Thief River Falls.
