ST. CLOUD — A 17-year-old driver died of injuries in a one-vehicle rollover in Stearns County on Saturday night.

Charlie Boike, 17, of St. Augusta, died at the scene of the crash after life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, according to a report from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

Boike was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on 23rd Avenue in St. Augusta about five miles south of St. Cloud around 10:32 p.m. on Saturday. The vehicle left the road and entered the ditch and rolled. Boike was restrained at the time of the crash, and road conditions were described as slippery due to weather and precipitation.

A passing motorist reported the crash. The motorists and other bystanders who arrived at the scene removed the driver from the vehicle and started CPR. Sheriff’s deputies arriving at the scene also continued lifesaving measures. They were unsuccessful, and the driver was declared deceased at the scene.

The St. Augusta Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
