MOORHEAD - A Moorhead teen pleaded guilty Thursday in Clay County District Court to conspiracy to commit robbery after a home invasion in September in which a man was punched after three strangers came to his home demanding cash and drugs.
Michael Andrew Zupan, 18, pleaded guilty to a single count of first-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, a felony.
Seven other felony charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, including an additional count of felony aggravated robbery and six counts of first degree burglary.
In the robbery, which happened around 10 p.m. the night of Sept 6, the homeowner told police he answered the door and was confronted by three men he didn't know; one was holding a handgun. The three forced their way in, at one point punching the man, while demanding cash and drugs.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton said in court the gun later turned out to be fake.

Zupan asked to begin serving his expected sentence of one year and 8½ months before his official sentencing, which is set for April 11.
Brady Wade Ellington, 19, of Moorhead, pleaded guilty on Oct. 29 to first-degree aggravated robbery in connection with the home invasion and was sentenced to four years in prison.
