LaRissa Nelson, a senior at Concordia College in Moorhead, spent the month of May traveling abroad, as a participant in one of eight May seminars offered through the Global Education Office at Concordia. Nelson is the daughter of Joel and LaRae Nelson of Detroit Lakes.
Nelson took part in the "Travel Writing: Around the World in 25 Days" seminar led by W. Scott Olsen and Dr. Jonathan Steinwand.
Students on this trip went all the way around the world: from New Zealand to Australia, to Hong Kong then India, to Egypt and England and then back home. The adventure put students in a variety of places and cultures, each different from the other.
They saw things like mountain range called The Remarkables, what it's like to swim at the Great Barrier Reef and what it's like to stand in the shadow of the Sphinx.
