Neva King

May 18, 1920-Feb. 7, 2006 Neva Serena King, 85, of Deerwood, Minn., died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul. Neva, the daughter of Earl and Serena (Wunderlich) Borden, was born at home on May 18, 1920 in Garrison Township.

Neva Serena King, 85, of Deerwood, Minn., died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.

Neva, the daughter of Earl and Serena (Wunderlich) Borden, was born at home on May 18, 1920 in Garrison Township. She married Alden Jay King on June 5, 1949 in Brainerd.

Neva was an active member of the Garrison Alliance Church. She graduated from UMD and taught school in the Crosby-Ironton/Emily area. She also was employed at the Brainerd State Hospital. Neva was an organic gardener and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Her Christian walk was an example to others.

Neva is survived by her husband, Alden King; two daughters, Linda (Doug) Lida of Wyoming. Minn., and Nancy (Matt) Osvold of Brainerd; three sons, Kevin (Kris) King of Little Canada, Stanley (Christy) King of Riverton and Randy (Becky) King of Detroit Lakes; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Preceding Neva in death were her parents; a sister, Cathleen Gilbertson; and a brother, Stanley.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Garrison Alliance Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, Minn.
