New Creation Lutheran Church will celebrate its first worship service this Easter Sunday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. at the Comet Theater, 146 First Ave. SE, Perham.
Margaret Lougheed, New Creation Lutheran Church's marketing and evangelical chairperson, said, "We're very excited and anticipating great things that God wants to accomplish with New Creation. We feel our contemporary style will reach people of all denominations.
"We will target our ministry to people that are not actively attending church. We want our community to know the peace and joy of God, and for them to know the comfort and healing that He provides."
New Creation Church will use contemporary methods in its ministry. Worship will consist of modern music assisted by multimedia presentations. The congregation feels that worship should not be a boring ritual of religion, but an exciting encounter of the heart with a living God.
"We're Bible based with a contemporary blend in worship style; we have a positive message of God's goodness and His desired life for us," Lougheed added.
