There is still no resolution to the investigation of former Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension finished its investigation in late November and turned it over to the Stearns County Attorney's Office for consideration of charges.
But that office has yet to take any action. It is handling the case for routine conflict-of-interest reasons.
"A charging decision has not yet been made and the investigation is continuing," Shan Wang, assistant chief of the criminal division at the Stearns County Attorney's Office, said Thursday.
He declined to elaborate on this specific case, but said in general more information is sometimes required by the county attorney's office and the investigating agency -- in this case the BCA --would gather that information.

The BCA did not return a call. State law prevents the BCA from discussing the details of active and ongoing investigation, spokeswoman Jill Oliveira said earlier.
The investigation apparently involves a DNR boat and water contract with Becker County.
The BCA earlier took possession of a boat purchased by the Becker County Sheriff's Office, but details of the BCA investigation still are not clear.
Through interviews and an open records request, Forum Communications learned that the sheriff's office bought the boat, along with an outboard motor and trailer, and prepared an application to the state Department of Natural Resources for reimbursement through a federal grant, but the application was never submitted.
The Forum first reported on the investigation when Gordon announced his resignation Oct. 9 in the middle of a four-year term, citing multiple personal reasons.
