RED LAKE FALLS - A Minnesota court sentenced a 24-year-old man to four years and three months in prison Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a girl between the ages of 13 and 15, according to the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Kyle Lucas Mazzucco, of Oklee, Minn., accepted a plea agreement in April and pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct in state district court in Red Lake Falls, a press release from the sheriff's office, said.
The sheriff's office says the incident between Mazzucco and the girl occurred in Oklee in December.
Oklee is a town of about 435 people about 20 miles east of Red Lake Falls in northwest Minnesota.
Mazzucco will receive credit for serving about nine months in jail while court proceedings played out, which leaves him with a remaining sentence of three years and six months, the release says. Mazzucco is required to serve at least two thirds of that sentence, according to the release.
