A Clitherall man suffered life-threatening injuries in a van-semi collision Saturday morning in Otter Tail County.
Isadore Andrew Mallak, 78, of Clitherall was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital, according to the State Patrol. He was not wearing a seatbelt and the airbags deployed.
He was driving a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country north on Otter Tail County Road 40, attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 210, when the minivan was struck by a 2014 Freightliner M2 traveling eastbound on Highway 210.
The driver of the semi, Jonathan Mitchell Alber, 43, of Marion, N.D., was not injured. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash occurred on dry pavement just before 6 a.m. in Nidaros Township. Ottertail Fire, Ottertail Police, and North Memorial medical workers assisted at the scene.
