A Grand Forks, N.D., woman had her first appearance in Becker County District Court on two charges Tuesday.

District Judge Thomas Schroeder set bond at $10,000 against Roberta Miller, 50, of 1716 Oak Street. Her next court appearance is May 1.

Miller is charged with felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor giving a police officer a false name.

According to the court complaint, Miller was stopped near Callaway by Ogema-Callaway Police Chief Dave McArthur for allegedly not having a license plate or temporary permit on her vehicle.

A subsequent check by McArthur determined that Miller lacked a valid driver's license or identification, and that she was wanted on a Marshall County warrant. Miller allegedly first identified herself as Rebecca Martin. Miller was arrested, and at the Becker County Jail a jailer found a Vicodin pill in her possession for which she lacked a prescription.
